Kevin and Jeremy

Turn of the Century B&J University Parlor Guitar

dantro — December 8, 2017

The top is solid spruce, neck is Spanish cedar with a hard “V”-shape, the back and sides appear to be birch. It recently had a refret, and a neck set done (not by us) as well as a new rosewood bridge made.

We were very lucky to come across this instrument at a decent price and found that just a bit more work could bring it to the next level.

A Person Who Cares About His Customers

dantro — August 10, 2016

Hi Jeremy! I wanted to write and thank you for making my recent purchase of the Eastman T-386 such a pleasant experience. You were extremely generous with your time on the phone with me as well as very helpful. It’s very obvious to me that you are a person who cares about his customers and it’s your nature to treat people with respect and kindness. I would not hesitate for a second to do business with you again in the future. It was a pleasure! I hope someday to visit your shop and meet you in person.

Kaslo's 120th Birthday

dantro — August 23, 2013

Every year the Village of  Kaslo has a small birthday party on the lawn of the Kemball Memorial Centre (right below the window of Mtn Fruit). There was cake, shade, speeches, social cheeriness amongst a small crowd and this year a live performance from Ron Wall and Liz Lupton from Pentiction. Liz plays violin and Ron plays fiddle, hammered dulcimer, harp and I am sure a few other instruments as well. Thanks to Liz and Ron for their short notice ‘goodwill to Kaslo performance’, I’m sure they would be welcomed here anytime!

Rick Scott on 'The Pew'

dantro — April 21, 2013

Rick wandered into Mtn Fruit the day before he played two wonderful concerts at the Langham on April 20th. He had a look on his face as if he had just opened the door into Narnia, a ‘what is this place?’ kind of look.
He chatted about the usual musician on the road ponderings; espresso machines that reveal themselves through a small door in the back of your double bass, kids who laugh at fart jokes, adults who laugh at fart jokes, you know how it goes.
Thanks for sharing yourself Rick, and thanks to Valley for getting him to the shows on time!

Maria in the Shower

dantro — October 15, 2012

On Friday October 12th, Maria in the Shower played a sold out fantastic show at the Langham Theatre in Kaslo, BC.

I met Maria at the Folklore Centre last year but this was my first chance to see them live. What fantastic showmen, true entertainers, who have crafted some wonderful music. To find out more visit their website.

On their most recent visit to Mtn Fruit we had a fun photo with newly acquired golf clubs from the thrift store in Kaslo. Always good to take time off and hit the links while on tour!
