We have come across a superb string set-up for mandolins. Using a Savarez Argentine set for the G, D, and E strings with the A string made by Prazision which is a wound A-string the instrument sings more readily with a more open and breathy voice and the playability is smoother and more delicate.
We have set-up two mandolins of the same model, Eastman MD604SB, one with a standard light D’addario EJ73 and one with this custom Argentine/Prazision set for a side-by-side comparison
